MON-top and tailed the organ tracks for dave davies with a little bit of judicious cutting and pasting to tidy up one or too pieces.his Winnifrid Atwell medely and his pasa doble failed the old grey valentine test and due to more than a few les dawson moments- will have to be replayed at the next session!! still he did not bad achieving 8 out of 10 tracks straight off, down at the maitlandfield hotel last week.more to come this week!
For the rest of the day ed and i concentrated on achieving a segue of the 3 tracks matt and mel davidson had recorded last week.this proved a bit more difficult than we thought due to the nature of the tracks ie nae bass drum ect to cut on so a bit of cross fading came into play.we will post the segue on the site soon and you can make up your own mind.ed and i think it gives a pretty good idea of what they can come up with- bearing in mind they were only in the studio for 2 hours!! Checkout our clients page at www.heartbeatstudio.co.uk to hear the finished segue.
TUES-worked on some in -house tracks and discovering more wonderful uses for the many plug ins we have acquired.finding we are spending a lot more time" working in the box" our 40track hard disk system is getting very grumpy and will probably spit the dummy next time we go to use it!
WED-a well earned day aff-whoopee!!!
THURS-cd for cammy goodall of his wonderful Burns poems with a view to using one or two on the ongoing Burns project we started last year.eillen carr soon coming in with her musicians to do the songs burns specifically wrote with a female vocalist in mind!
alan rae dropped in with a recording of his good friend Big bad Bruce Beveridge which he had recorded in the house unaccompanied .he has asked if we can supply some accompaniment to the songs and bawdy sonets
to which ed and i replied -we is musicians nae magicians!!! only joking Al.will see what can be achieved next week .but probably better if Bruciey baby swans in and we dig up some b/tracks for him.Anyway ed and i had a good laugh at some of his renditions of well known songs with his self made dubious lyrics.!
FRI-ed did his mobile rcordings to your door down at the Maitlandfield Hotel in haddington to capture Dave Davies again on his Technics organ .this time he played a selection of Glen Millar toons 12 in all. and one hour later he was out the door!job competed!!!! .many thanks again to our good pal bob heatlie for the kind loan of his wonderful zoom digital recorder which works a treat for in the field recordings!
